Admission-Our Method

 

SMALL CLASSES: The cornerstone of our philosophy is the small class, which engages 30 students. This enables the teachers to offer personal attention to the problem that students may have and to help them develop interests in a chosen areas of study. Students' work can be graded more thoroughly and ways shown to enhance essay writing and develop problem solving techniques. A relationship of trust and mutual understanding is built between the teacher and fellow students.

 

INTENSIVE TUITION: Intensive tuition ensures that students become thoroughly familiar with all aspects of the syllabus. At IPC, students receive six hours of tuition per day. In addition, students are expected to follow up their work by completing assignments each week in each subject.
Students receive course outlines at the beginning of the term and great care is taken to ensure that syllabuses are covered logically and thoroughly.
Our teachers help students develop exam techniques and strategies so that by the end of their study they are able to apply the knowledge they have gained to achieve maximum grades.
We believe that when students are interested, learning comes more naturally and easily. Our teachers ensure that learning is a stimulating and enjoyable process by encouraging directed discussion which may go on well after lessons. About one hour is allocated for general interaction in class every week. Because of this rigorous and stimulating style, students usually leave IPC bold, mature and ready to face the future with great hope and confidence.

 

EXAMINATION AND TESTING: We use frequent test to monitor the progress of our students. There are impromptu test as well as organised test twice every term. Students are examined at the end of each term and are encouraged to revise during the holidays in order to consolidate their knowledge in preparation for the following term.
All students are expected to demonstrate a satisfactory level of achievement in these internal examination before being presented for external examinations.

REPORTS: The school monitors students closely while parents and sponsors are kept fully informed each term. Regular time is allocated to parents to visit and check on the progress of their child/ward. Records of performance are recorded in continuous assessment report book as well as termly/annual report books and given to parents.

 

CAREER POWER: IPC education features active hands-on learning. With well equipped Science Laboratories, Introductory technology workshop, Computer laboratory and others utilities, students develop skills of critical analysis, reasoning and deduction, verbal and written communication, decision making and persuasion. These skills provide opportunities for careers in Education, Engineering, technology, Law, Medicine, Financial education, Information technology, Business, Music and other fields.
